Welcome to the People and Data-centric Computing Research at Simon Fraser University. We're very excited to have this blog to share some of our work with you!

The PADComp team conducts research at the intersection of human-computer interaction and machine learning. We focus on questions related to people and data that fuel artificial intelligence techinologies. We seek to understand the relationship between human and AI, empower people to control how their data is used and ensure that AI is used responsibly.

This blogs serves as a platform to share our current research and insights from current hot topics in the field.

We're also very excited to announce our initial research team, supervised by Dr. Nicholas Vincent.

Dr. Nicholas Vincent

Assistant Professor

Nicholas' research focuses on understanding how data records provide value to AI systems.

Patrick Zhao

MSc Computer Science Student

Patrick's current research involves developing tools that promote transparency and user understanding of emerging governance structures for people and data, as well as experimental voting systems.

Vitor Hugo

MSc Computer Science Student

Vitor's research delves into the implications of artificial intelligence on decision-making and human trust.

Visit the People page and stay updated with our current researchers and their detailed research interests.

Looking forward to seeing you around!
